World lace festival - Od dziś do środy odbywają się warsztaty koronki klockowej, podczas których uczestnicy mogą spróbować różnych technik – zarówno tradycyjnego, jak i nowoczesnego koronkarstwa. From today through Wednesday, bobbin lace workshops are taking place, where participants can try a variety of techniques, ranging from traditional to contemporary lace-making.
Lucia de Cristofaro - Quando inizio un nuovo progetto, il merletto a tombolo è sempre al centro di ogni mia idea. Il mio obiettivo è trasformare questa antica arte in gioielli contemporanei, pensati per essere indossati, vissuti e ammirati. Credo fermamente che le cose belle non debbano restare chiuse in un cassetto, come i pizzi di una volta: meritano di vedere la luce e di valorizzare chi le porta.
Mary Elizabeth Barron - Finished the piece from Ewa Szpila's Bobowa lace workshop. I will take care of the ends when I get home. The early tallies are very bad but they definitely improved as I went & I think the final one is pretty good. It is a very pretty design by Ewa. Thank you, Ewa, for great classes, I really enjoyed learning the new techniques & we had lots of laughs! Loved your delicious food as well!
Nottinghamshire Bobbin Lace Society - Today two of our lovely volunteers were demonstrating bobbin lace at the Nottingham Industrial Museum (NIM) in Wollaton Park and were visited by a rather special couple! Faye & Matt were celebrating their 13th (Lace) anniversary. They always try to do something related to the theme of each anniversary. So they had contacted the NIM to spend some time looking at the lace machines there and to spend some time with our volunteers making hand made lace.
