Our beginner managed her section start (4th repeat) with very little help so she has just left smiling.

Isernia es una localidad Italiana de la region de la Molise; es un pueblo tranquilo que tiene mucha historia en sus calles. El encaje de bolillos es un arte característico de Isernia. Según la tradición llego al lugar en el siglo XV por las monjas españolas que venian a vivir en el convento benedictino de Santa Maria delle Monache.

Rosi Tombolo - Un album dei primi del Novecento dalla mia biblioteca. Edizioni DAÈ, Lille. Per l'esecuzione del merletto ad ago veneziano si propone il lino "A l'Aigle DAÈ che è prodotto in tutte le grossezze dal n.1 al 10.000" (!!10.000??) così è pubblicizzato. Inoltre si dice che questo filo è " brillante e assolutamente naturale e non ha subito alcun processo chimico o di mercerizzazione". Possiamo concludere con una frase ovvia e scontata: non ci sono più i filati di una volta!
