The Fan Museum -The pattern on this leather fan has been carefully cut to look like lace. In fact its geometric design was likely taken from an Italian lace pattern book. Look closely, and you can see how the bone sticks have been threaded through the delicate lace leaf. This fan dates from around 1600, and is from the Hamey collection, which included items believed to have belonged to the executed King Charles I.
