Sumiko Tray - On the day of arrival, we were invited to the reception at the old restored castle. It is now the museum and has displays of antique toys, lace pillows, and a collection of antique lace. Each room in the castle was also displayed as it used to be.

 

Sumiko Tray - We had our lace day today in Manchester, CT. We had lunch together surrounded by beautiful bonsai trees. We did work on bobbin lace, knitting, and tatting. It was a fun day!

Sumiko Tray - We visited Hotel de la Dentelle Brioude yesterday. They have a magnificent lace museum, studio, and supply store. Now I can check off one of my bucket list. I have wanted to visit this place for so long

 

Sumiko Tray - Working on Craponne Lace, 1st model. I am starting from the beginning. There are some interesting techniques in this lace!

 

Sumiko Tray - Studying Cluny de Brioude lace with Genevere Olloix this week. I am doing much better learning this French lace in person. Genevere’s accomplishments with the lace are so impressive. We are so honored to be able to learn from her.

 

Sumiko Tray - Finally finished today. Not perfect but I am HAPPY! Lace designed by Kumiko Nakazaki.

 

Sumiko Tray - Currently working on two different types of lace. Cluny de Brioude is designed by Genevere Olloix and Binche Lace is designed by Kumiko Nakazaki. Both of them are my lace teachers.

Sumiko Tray - CT Lace Day at my house today. I baked a loaf of bread again with cranberries, rosemary, olive oil, and sea salt this morning. We had a fewer people but all stayed until 4 p.m. We enjoyed making lace together!!
